About Zentek: Our team, Our experience
Our team, Our experience
Andrew Ramsden – Chairman and owner of Zentek Solutions and Zentek Forensics.
Andrew has over 26 years of experience in ICT with a foundation in engineering that has stood him well as his career has progressed. With a background in Service Management instigated through the support for Acorn systems in the 90’s, Andrew took the brave decision to set up Zentek to address what he thought was the shortfall in service levels for educational establishments.
Over the past 10 years he has overseen Zentek implement and support administration networks and curriculum solutions into over a 1000 schools across the northwest through a variety of NGfL and Specialist Schools initiatives in addition to the 450 + schools that now work with Zentek. Andrew is passionate about providing service and support and this is reflected in the fact that over half of the staff in Zentek are technical, something he is very proud of.
Andrew is currently a governor for two secondary schools and therefore has first hand knowledge of the issues faced daily in schools.
Paul Braithwaite – Technical Director
Paul has over 18 years experience in the field of ICT within the IT service industry and over 25 in the field of electronics. As a specialist in Microsoft & Novell networking technologies, Paul is the chief design architect for all Zentek solutions deployed both in the UK and Middle East.
With close connections into Primary Education, he has both an extensive and thorough understanding of the issues faced by practitioners and end users alike, allowing him to design user friendly solutions accordingly.
Colin McKeown – Managing Director
Colin has been in the Electronics and ICT arena for over 24 years now and has witnessed many changes in how IT has evolved in to ICT and contributed to it becoming pervasive in many schools across the UK and Middle East.
He was approached to join Zentek as a director 4 years ago whist he was UK Business Development Manager for HP’s (previously Compaq) Education team. During that time he brought in business processes and devised a product portfolio that has taken industry standard products and turned them into educationally appropriate solutions.
His knowledge of the education sector, borne out by having worked as an ICT consultant, IT manager and school governor for several schools has given Zentek a significant advantage over both its local and national competitors. By directing Zentek towards a solution and services rich portfolio, he has ensured that schools have choice in terms of an alternative to the national players and confidence in knowing that the solutions Zentek provide are best in class.
